About Uncut Football

Uncut Football started the way most football conversations do: late at night, arguing about a player nobody talks about anymore. We're not a media company and we're not ex-professionals. We're supporters, people who grew up watching this game, recording matches, collecting shirts and remembering names long after the highlights disappeared.

What we love most about football isn't the trophies. It's the stories. The careers cut short, the cities shaped by their clubs, the victories that came at a cost, and the defeats that refused to be forgotten. Those stories are what made us fall in love with the game, and they're the reason this site exists.

What we publish

Uncut Football is an independent publication dedicated to long-form football storytelling. Every piece is a deep dive into one player, one match, one club or one moment written to be read slowly, not skimmed. No transfer rumours, no hot takes, no clickbait lists. Just football history told properly.

Who writes Uncut Football

Uncut Football is a small independent publication, not a media company or a newsroom. It is written and edited by the Uncut Football editorial team: supporters who research, write and fact check every piece themselves. AI is used only for the artwork on this site, as described on our disclosure page. Nothing is published without a human reading it end to end first.

Every story carries a visible publication date, a byline, and a Sources & Further Reading section listing the material it was built from. If you spot an error, or you were involved in something we've written about and remember it differently, write to us at uncut.football0@gmail.com and we will correct the piece and note the change.

How we work

Each story is researched from interviews, archive footage, match reports and contemporary press coverage. When we quote someone, we name where the quote came from. When something is disputed or remembered differently by the people involved, we say so instead of picking the neater version. Stories are written and edited by the Uncut Football editorial team, and we update pieces when better information appears.

Independent, and staying that way

Uncut Football has no club affiliation and no owner telling us what to write. The site is funded by advertising and supported by readers who subscribe to the newsletter. That independence is the whole point: it lets us write about the uncomfortable parts of football as honestly as the beautiful ones.

Advertising

Every story here is free to read, paid for by advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisers never see stories before publication and have no say in what we cover or conclude. How we use AI
